Francesca duranti started practising rhythmic gym when she was a child and soon became a professional athlete. At the age of 17 she was part of an international theatre exchange with avignon (fr) and then started acting. After one year spent in london, she came back to siena and formed her own theatre company. Since 2002 she has followed professional training under the direction of artists and teachers at the international research dance-theatre company voyage du geste in italy, france, lebanon, portugal and belgium. She studied ballet and contemporary dance at o. M. A (officina movimento arte, florence) inside the programme for professional dancers luogo comune and in major dance institutions in europe and new york. Among her masters: virgilio sieni, marina giovannini, samuele cardini, alessandro certini, maresa moglia, frey faust, david zambrano, peter goss, giorgio rossi. She has danced with, among others: cristina rizzo, stalker/daniele albanese, compagnia giardino chiuso, compagnia effetto parallelo, cie. Subitopresto (fr), còrai (palermo), compagnia gabriella secchi (firenze).
Francesca duranti has an ma in english language and literature (completed in 2004) and a ph. D. In dance studies (completed in 2008).
Parallel to her artistic career, she also passed the diploma as personal trainer, fitness instructor and functional trainer instructor with fif (federazione italiana fitness). With fif she has also followed several masters: gag, total body workout, stretch and strength, step-aerobic choreography, rtp resistance training program. She has attended many fitness conventions in italy, organised by fif ). She is currently working in several fitness clubs and dance studios in siena and florence where she teaches total body workout, pilates, power stretch integrated, floor barre.
She is working for the dance company nexus with choreographer simona bertozzi in the project animali senza favola and with choreographer gabriella secchi in florence. She is also working on her new dance solo project straniero with the support of cab008, kinkaleri spazio k and compagnia giardino chiuso.
She teaches contemporary dance and improvisation at ateneo della danza (siena) inside the professional dance program ex. Pe, at la corte dei miracoli (siena) and at equinox (barberino val d'elsa).
She can teach in english and french.
